Who isn’t in love with Blake Lively? Since finding fame on Gossip Girl her style has evolved. Blake embraced her pregnancy looking flawless all the way through and never once giving into big maxis or oversized tops.
We want to steal her style (and her husband).
This past year, whether pregnant or not, Blake has picked out some of the key trends which we love.
Printed trousers are big for SS15 and are the perfect item in your wardrobe for any occasion whether you’re in the office or on holiday.
Armani Jeans and French Connection are a great example of this trend.
These Armani Jeans
trousers in a lightweight crepe fabric is a key example of how versatile patterned trousers can be. The great thing about these trousers is that because of the fabric and jogger-style fit, they can be dressed up with a pair of strappy heeled sandals and a blazer for work. This look can then be carried on to after work drinks. On the other hand, they can easily be worn with a pair of flip flops and a basic tee for a relaxed day time look.
French connection have gone a bit more graphic with their prints this season. This trouser is smarter than the Armani Jeans
trouser, with the slim fit leg creating a flattering shape, along with the side zip, meaning they have a seamless look. However they are still as versatile as the other trousers. A great look for these would be pairing them with brogues or slippers.
Every one is loving Botanical Prints this season, they create an eye-catching look perfect for summer.
Ted Baker has really lived up to this trend this season. For SS15 they’ve had two different botanical prints running through their collection.
Their Lily and Hibiscus print, seen below is for night time looks, with the pink and oranges contrasting against the mainly black background. We wouldn’t recommend having a whole outfit consisting of this print (unless its the dresses) but they are great items to focus an outfit around, picking out certain colours in the print such as green or pinks.
The other key print, is the Rose Print, which due to the lighter pastel colours, is more of a day time look or perfect for special occasions such as weddings. This print can easily be dressed up, especially with the printed t-shirt below. Pair it with blue jeans, a blazer and a pair of heels and you’re good to go.
If you love these prints but aren’t keen on them dominating your outfit, they are also available in scarves so you can drape them over your outfit or be used as a cover-up.
Our last style inspiration from Blake is Jumpsuits, perfect for this in-between weather or late summer nights.
The range of jumpsuits above how just how versatile they are.
The Ted Baker black and White jumpsuit, is perfect for smart occasions as it has a much more tailored look compared to the others. The embellished neckline glams it up a bit and the waistband cinches you in at the waist.
To the right we have the complete opposite style of jumpsuit from Pepe Jeans. The abstract flower print along with the floaty design makes this the perfect holiday and festival item.
Lastly we have a Lavish Alice navy jumpsuit with a peplum style detailing and crossover spaghetti straps. This jumpsuit is perfect for going out, pair it with some big wedges to create a 70’s look with the flared trousers.
