The Oscars

Rounding off awards season was last night’s Oscars and as usual, the ceremony was full of events that have us talking this morning; from Jennifer Lawrence falling over again, to the most star studded selfie ever taken and the news that Leonardo DiCaprio went home empty handed for another year (you’re a winner in our eyes Leo!).

Of course there were even more glamorous gowns to swoon over and even some pretty memorable menswear looks. Let the battle for best dressed commence…

Kate Hudson

Kate Hudson, who was presenting an award, chose a striking Atelier Versace white gown compete with a dramatic draped back detail.

Cate Blanchett

Winner of the Best Actress award Cate Blanchett glowed in a nude Armani Privé sequin gown. We love the embellishments for a soft romantic look.

Pharrell Williams

Pharrell Williams ditched his trademark hat for the red carpet, but still managed to cause a stir in a pair of unusual tuxedo shorts by Lanvin.

Lupita Nyong’o

It’s difficult to keep up your fashion mojo across the whole of awards season, but Lupita Nyong’o has quickly become a fashion darling thanks to her string of ‘best dressed’ looks. She chose a specially made Prada gown which reminded her of her native Kenya – “It’s a blue that reminds me of the Nairobi sky.”

Jared Leto

Best Supporting Actor winner, Jared Leto stepped away from tradition and chose a white Saint Laurent blazer accented with a red bow tie and those flowing locks. Sometimes a red carpet risk truly pays off.

Angelina Jolie

Angelina Jolie showed off her immaculate sense of red carpet style in a shimmering Elie Saab dress.
