Cara Delevingne for Mulberry

It seems like you can’t open a magazine without seeing Cara Delevingne. Dubbed as the ‘new Kate Moss,’ the 20 year old model has walked endless runway shows and fronted numerous campaigns for many luxury brands. So when she closed the Mulberry show at London Fashion Week back in February, it should have been a hint of things to come.

And earlier in the year, when Cara posted a snap of her posing with owls on her Instagram page, it seemed like just another day in her weird and wacky world – this is a girl with a penchant for animal onesies and pulling silly faces. However, the real reason for her random photo has been revealed.

Cara Delevingne has been announced as the face of the Mulberry Autumn/Winter ’13 campaign. Shot by renowned fantasy photographer Tim Walker and using a Brothers Grimm inspired set by Shona Heath, Mulberry aimed to celebrate the mystery of the English countryside. The woodland theme brought the outdoors inside and sees Cara posing alongside floral-tipped trees and a parliament of owls (Google it!).

Creative Director Emma Hill, who is due to leave the brand, said “The Autumn Winter 2013 collection was inspired by the English countryside and cosy, familiar rural scenes, but with a dark, mysterious and seductive veil. After closing our London Fashion Week show, Cara was the first name in my mind for this season, she’s beautiful, bold and British!”
